Letter from [Arthur] Neville Chamberlain (37 Eaton Square [London]) to WSC, thanking him for sending him a copy of "Marlborough: His Life and Times". Chamberlain explains that he had spent much of the weekend in reading reviews of the book so was particularly pleased to receive WSC's gift. He looks forward to reading it, adding that he was also happy that WSC had not yet taken him off his list of friends receiving his books, and hoped that he never would.

Letter from Sir [Joseph] Austen Chamberlain (58 Rutland Gate [London]) to WSC, thanking him for sending him a copy of Volume 1 of "Marlborough: His Life and Times". He looks forward to reading it, particularly the chapters on Camaret Bay, and explains that he would be particularly pleased if WSC had proved his case, citing a similar occasion when the great-nephew of the historian Macaulay had atoned for Macaulay's prejudice.
