Letter from A H Richards [General Organising Secretary of the Anti-Nazi Council] (19, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London) to WSC marked "confidential" about guests at a luncheon on 25 April 1939 reporting that Lord Halifax [earlier Edward Wood and Lord Irwin] has accepted and that [17th] Lord Derby [earlier Lord Stanley] may come. He then lists the other guests and the names of those who are yet to reply and reports that [Anthony] Eden [later 1st Lord Avon] cannot come. Signed manuscript with shorthand annotations.

Letter from A H Richards [General Organising Secretary of the Anti-Nazi Council](19, Southampton Buildings, Chancery Lane, London) to WSC marked "private" informing him of the arrangements for private luncheon to meet Dr Eduard Benes [former President of the Czechoslovak Republic] at the Savoy Hotel. Benes will make a short statement "upon the position as he sees it" and will welcome discussion. Benes will be accompanied by Madam Benes and Jan Masaryk. He encloses a list of invitees and asks whether WSC would be prepared to persuade influential Conservatives to come and ask Lord Halifax [earlier Edward Wood and Lord Irwin] to come.
