Letter from Bernard Freyberg (7 Clarendon Place, Hyde Park [London]) to WSC, thanking him for his congratulatory telegram [on being adopted as Conservative candidate for the Spelthorne Division of Middlesex]. Freyberg explains that he was leaving the next day, first for a short visit to [?] 6th Lord Gort [earlier John Vereker], and then for New Zealand, and asks if he could come and see WSC the following week. In a postscript, he adds "They are a very fine Division". Signed manuscript, annotated with arrangements for meeting Freyberg for lunch on 5 December.
