CHAR 2/336/57

Letter from [Arthur] Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister, (10 Downing Street [London]) to WSC, thanking him for his letter of 18 April about the Air programme. Chamberlain assures WSC that he had not overlooked the points raised in notes which WSC had sent him on 12 March, but had been giving the subject his very close personal attention, as had Sir Thomas Inskip [Minister for the Co-ordination of Defence, later 1st Lord Caldecote] and 1st Lord Swinton [Secretary of State for Air, earlier Philip Cunliffe-Lister and Philip Lloyd-Greame]. Chamberlain states that a number of decisions had been taken, most of which WSC should approve of, and assures him that he would not cease giving the matter close personal attention. Signed typescript.
