Letter from WSC to Sir Kingsley Wood, Postmaster General, recommending Colonel Cecil L'Estrange Malone, for employment. Stating that Malone, had been sent to prison for six months, [in 1920] for saying at the Albert Hall, that WSC should be hanged on a lamp post "a monstrous sentence for what was no more than fair political criticism". Stating that he had gone too far to the left after the Armistice, but that he now resided "inside the pale which separates the Labour Party from Gehenna" [carbon].
