Stating that Randolph had done well, but had done two things which had upset, people, firstly at attack on Sir Herbert Samuel, at Darwen, which he had to withdraw later as it was incorrect, and a reference to the Lancashire Members of Parliament as "rats" which had "greatly incensed a number of people." Suggesting that WSC should speak to RSC, and 1st Lord Rothermere, and perhaps to forbid RSC doing this in future.

Letter from H Morison, PS to 1st Lord Rothermere to the PS to WSC, on article on Singapore sent to WSC by the former Kaiser Wilhelm II. Stating that the "Daily Mail" had always opposed a "Singapore adventure" and that under no circumstances would the e British people allow the Mediterranean fleet to go to Singapore. Commenting that only the presence of the entire British Fleet a Singapore would exert any real influence and that even then in Rothermere's opinion, that would not thwart or deter Japanese ambitions.
